The GYFTC8Y Non-metallic Self-supporting Outdoor Figure-8 Fiber Optic Cable is designed for direct aerial deployment without the need for additional messenger wires. Its integrated figure-8 cross-section combines the optical transmission unit and the load-bearing galvanized steel messenger into a single unified PE sheath, making it a cost-effective solution for overhead fiber network construction.

Construction Details
  • Optical Unit: 2 to 144 fibers (standard G.652D single-mode) are housed in high-modulus PBT loose tubes, fully filled with water-blocking gel to protect the fibers from moisture and mechanical damage.
  • Central Strength Member: A fully non-metallic FRP (Fiber Reinforced Plastic) rod runs through the cable core, eliminating metal components inside the transmission section to deliver excellent anti-electromagnetic interference performance.
  • Integrated Figure-8 Structure: The stranded cable core, wrapped with water-blocking tape, is co-extruded with the galvanized steel messenger into a single black UV-resistant polyethylene (PE) outer sheath, forming the iconic figure-8 profile.

  • Superb Mechanical Properties: Long-term allowable crushing force reaches 300N/10cm, with a short-term value of 1000N/10cm. The static minimum bending radius is 10 times the cable diameter, and the dynamic bending radius is 20 times the diameter.
  • Wide Temperature Adaptability: Operates reliably across -40℃ to +70℃, fully adapting to harsh outdoor climate conditions for long-term field service.
  • Outstanding Transmission Performance: Typical attenuation at 1310nm is ≤0.36dB/km and at 1550nm is ≤0.22dB/km, meeting the low-loss requirements for long-haul and metro network transmission.
  • Easy and Low-Cost Installation: The pre-integrated high-tensile steel messenger removes the need for separate messenger wire deployment, drastically cutting aerial construction time and total project cost.
