Product Overview

The GYTC8Y Figure-8 Aerial Optical Fiber Cable is a classic metallic-strength, self-supporting loose-tube outdoor figure-8 fiber optic cable. It is widely deployed for direct aerial installation without requiring a separate messenger wire.

Its integrated "8" cross-section unites the optical transmission unit and the high-tensile galvanized steel messenger in one continuous HDPE outer sheath, making it a cost-efficient, high-reliability workhorse for global telecom aerial network construction.

Cable capacity ranges from 2 fibers up to 288 fibers. Available fiber types include Single Mode G657A1 and Single Mode G657A2.

Production Standard

This cable strictly conforms to mainstream global industry specifications, including YD/T 1155, GB/T 13993, YD/T 901-2018 and the international IEC 60794-1 series standards, ensuring full interoperability with global mainstream fiber network systems.

Construction
  • Optical Unit: 2~288 fibers (standard G.652D, G.657A1 single-mode) are housed in hydrolysis-resistant high-modulus PBT loose tubes, fully filled with specialized water-blocking gel to deliver robust protection for the fibers.
  • Central Strength Member: A solid metallic steel wire runs through the center of the stranded cable core, providing far higher tensile rigidity than non-metallic FRP for long-span aerial scenarios.
  • Integrated Figure-8 Structure: The water-blocking tape wrapped cable core, paired with the high-strength galvanized steel messenger, is co-extruded into a single UV-stabilized black polyethylene (PE) outer sheath, forming the iconic 8-shaped profile.
  • Optional Moisture Barrier: Many variants add an APL (Aluminum-Polyethylene Laminate) layer longitudinally wrapped around the cable core, further boosting moisture resistance for humid outdoor environments.
