Single sheath ADSS (All-Dielectric Self-Supporting) fiber optic outdoor cable is a lightweight, non-metallic fiber optic cable designed for outdoor aerial installations without requiring a separate steel messenger wire. Featuring a single outer jacket layer, it serves as an economical, flexible option for short-to-medium span distribution.

A single sheath ADSS cable relies on an integrated, concentric geometry to support its own weight against environmental loads such as wind and ice.

A 200-meter span single sheath ADSS Optical Fiber Aerial Outdoor Cable represents the upper engineering threshold for single-jacket aerial deployments. While most single sheath cables max out around 100 m–120 m, specialized manufacturers can stretch a single jacket out to 200 meters by significantly upgrading the internal aramid yarn (Kevlar) density to compensate for wind, ice, and structural sag over longer distances.

The cable is fully compliant with AS/NZS S008, IEC 60794-3-20 and IEEE 1222 industry standards.

It is available with many fiber types, including single mode fiber (SMF) 9/125 G.652D, G.657A1, G.655 and others, or multimode fiber (MMF) 62.5/125 OM1 and 50/125 OM2, OM3, OM4 and OM5.

This single sheath ADSS cable is widely used in 10 kV–110 kV power distribution network communication lines with 150 m typical pole spacing. It is also suitable for lightning-prone mountainous areas, railway communication routes, and suburban FTTH last-mile access networks. Its all-dielectric structure is completely immune to electromagnetic interference, making it an ideal replacement for traditional metallic aerial communication cables and significantly improving the reliability and service life of outdoor overhead fiber links.

• The 250 μm multimode OM2 50/125 colored optical fibers are inserted into high-modulus PBT loose tubes filled with water-blocking ointment.
• Waterproof Loose Tubes: Thermoplastic PBT tubes house up to 12 ITU-T G.652D/G.657A single-mode fibers each, filled with a low-viscosity, thixotropic, non-melting waterproof gel that is fully compatible with fiber coating materials. This gel completely isolates fibers from moisture, preventing signal attenuation caused by water intrusion.
• A central non-metallic strength member (FRP, Fiber Reinforced Plastic) provides primary tensile support.
• Two layers of high-strength aramid yarn are evenly twisted around the cable core to further enhance tensile performance.
• Single PE Outer Sheath: The outermost layer is a 1.8–2.2 mm thick UV-stabilized black polyethylene (PE) jacket, fully compliant with AS 1049 standard. It resists long-term UV radiation, ozone erosion and temperature fluctuations, and can be upgraded to a special anti-tracking AT PE variant for 110 kV high-voltage electric field environments to avoid electrical corrosion damage.

• High Tension: Rated Tensile Strength (RTS) ranges from 10 kN to 120 kN, with maximum everyday operating tension kept below 1/3 of RTS to ensure fiber strain remains under 0.05%.
• Span Range: 50 m, 80 m, 100 m, 120 m, 150 m, 200 m, 300 m, 500 m.
• Bending Radius: 20× cable diameter during installation; 15× cable diameter under static no-load state.
• Temperature Range: −10 °C to +50 °C for installation; −40 °C to +70 °C for long-term operation and storage.
• Key Advantages: Fully immune to lightning strikes and electromagnetic interference; 30–50% lighter than double-sheath ADSS cables, reducing tower load and installation difficulty.
• Single Outer Sheath: 1.5–2.0 mm thick UV-stabilized black HDPE jacket.
