MPO patch cables / MTP Trunk Cables are high-density fiber optic cables that used for fast data networks. It uses a Multi-fiber Push-On connector to link many fibers at once.
MTP MPO (Multi-Fiber Push-On) trunk cables are high-density fiber optic cables that used to transmit multiple optical signals through a single interface.
It consolidates anywhere from 8 fibers to 48 fibers into one compact connector, making it the backbone for high-speed data centers, enterprise networks, and telecom systems.
MTP MPO trunk cables typically have MPO connectors (or MTP® connectors) on both ends.
In standard structured cabling, the trunk cable serves as a permanent backbone, linking between switches or from a main switch to a server. At each end, the MPO connector plugs into a patch panel cassette or breakout cable, which then transitions the multi-fiber connection into traditional, single-fiber links (like LC or SC connectors) that plug directly into the equipment.
MTP MPO trunk cables use for High-Speed Migration, they serve as the physical foundation for scaling up to 40G, 100G, 400G, and 800G Ethernet architectures, which require parallel optics.
