1. What is Fiber Optic GYTA53 Cable?

  • Direct-buried Underground Outdoor Optical Cable GYTA53 cable is one of common type fiber optic cable use for outdoor, is a heavy-duty, double-jacketed + double-armored fiber optic cable, special designed for direct burial underground. 

     


  • The letters and numbers in GYTA53 are part of a standard naming system for fiber optic cables. Each part show us exactly how the cable is built:

    + GY: an outdoor cable for communication networks.

    + T: use a loose-tube design filled with a special waterproof gel to protect the glass fibers.

    + A: Stands for aluminum tape, which wraps around the inner core to act as a barrier against moisture.

    + 5: Indicates a corrugated steel tape armor layer on the outside to give the cable extreme crush resistance

    + 3: Means it has a tough outer polyethylene (PE) plastic jacket to resist weather, soil chemicals, and animal bites.

     

2. Fiber Optic GYTS Cable structure:

  • Central Strength Member: A solid steel wire or fiberglass rod in the dead center that stops the cable from stretching.


  • Fiber Tubes: Loose plastic tubes containing the actual color-coded glass fibers floating inside a jelly-like water-blocking compound.


  • Inner Jacket: A primary layer of PE plastic.


  • Moisture Barrier: The aluminum tape layer.
