1. What is GYFTY fiber optic cable?
- GYFTY fiber optic cable is a fully non-metallic outdoor optical fiber communication cable, which is widely deployed in scenarios with strong electromagnetic interference and frequent lightning strikes.
- The GYFTY fiber optic cable capacity from 2fibers upto maximum 288 fibers.
- What "GYFTY" Means
G: Outdoor communication optical cable (Group).
Y: Loose tube structure.
F: Non-metallic central strength member made of fiberglass-reinforced plastic (FRP).
T: Loose tube design filled with gel.
Y: Polyethylene inner or outer protective layer.
- Performance Features
+ All-nonmetallic Structure:
There are no metal components in the entire cable, which completely eliminates transmission failures caused by lightning induction and strong electrical interference.
+ Excellent Mechanical and Temperature Stability:
The fiber excess length is precisely controlled, and the additional attenuation of the fiber after cabling is almost zero, with an applicable temperature range from -40℃ to +70℃.
+ Full-section Water-blocking Design:
Through the multiple designs of loose tube ointment and cable core water-blocking filler, moisture intrusion is avoided to prevent damage to optical fibers.
+ Good Laying Compatibility:
It supports multiple outdoor laying methods such as aerial and duct laying,and no additional lightning protection grounding treatment is required.
2. GYFTY Cable Structure:
- FRP Strength Member: The central yellow Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic, serving as the core tensile support of the cable, completely replaces the traditional metal strength core.
- Loose Tube: Colored tubes surrounding the central strength member, made of high-modulus PBT, accommodating 250μm bare optical fibers inside.
- Tube Filling Compound: Special waterproof ointment filled inside the loose tube, providing cushioning and waterproof protection for optical fibers.
- Cable Filling Compound: Water-blocking compound filled in the gaps of the entire cable core, achieving full-section water-blocking effect.
- PE Sheath: The outermost black polyethylene outer sheath, providing physical protection for the cable core.
- Vitta: Red and green marking lines on the sheath, used to distinguish the front and back sides and batches of the cable during construction. (Optional request)
